A short entry this time as there is little news. Yesterday the computer would not allow access to Litnet and I checked the mailbox for more cease and desist orders from Logos lawyers--persistent paper pushers they be but nope--lately not even the Readers Digest sweepstakes advising me I'm a winner has failed to stir up the blood pressure on a monthly basis.

Finally access granted and for once Majong Solitaire can wait.

Al (aka Alexandra Lillian) was not operated right away after birth. At 8 o'clock that night Jim thought it would be Thursday the 29th.

Nope. They ran an MRI on her yesterday (thanks to House MD I now know what that entailed). Her heart valve had not fully closed and that needed attending to. Should be done as of last night but Jim is not the quickest with the updates as two days went by without a word. If I can wait a year for Logos to post Rafael Sabatini stories to Litnet without even ONCE reminding her about it (she specifically mentioned no immediate time frame and I was determined to prove I was a patient man willing to wait years for her phon--I mean book postings.

Anyhoo--the tumor on Al's back may be addressed Monday. Her picture is on Loretta's MySpace page but I have an honest desire NOT to view it. (I have seen an uncle with 90% body burns on him and handled it but I did not want the grand-child's first image on the brain cells to be of that nature.

God is still good. Jim said also something about two blood vessels but my knowledge of medicine really starts and ends with Dr. McCoy's usual "He's dead Jim." (I'll stick with House--I have a better prognosis chance of survival.)

Your thoughts are appreciated and your continued prayers coveted.

Thanks for keeping us posted, Rich. I guess the news could have been better, but it could have been worse. I'm still praying for the little girl and the gramps as well.

Poor little Al. I hope she gets better. I don't recall she had a heart valve problem. Let's hope it's not serious.

my husband was watching Star Trek last night and I got so tickled. He enjoyed the sum of your medical knowledge as much as I did. You’re such a great blogger!

I am sorry to hear that there were more complications, but I am with the thought that with today's science, we can do so much more. Little Al will be in good hands, and she (and her family) are all in my thoughts. Hang in there, Rich, and let us know when you learn of any developments. Love Kizzo

Oh my, that's really sad, Rich. Bullet had heart problems when she was very young too. Still praying. Much love to you.
