The Marriage & The Boat

I was thinking today about the counselling my husband and I got when we asked our minister to marry us. We had to go to several pre-Marriage classes prior to our big day, and though I kind of enjoyed them, my then hubby-to-be hated them (his words were something along the lines of 'hating to bare his soul to outsiders' ...).![]()
At any rate, at the end of the sessions, the minister asked us to find something -- a concept -- that we could compare a marriage with. We concluded that a marriage could be considered a ship at sea. The ship is prepared with careful detail, and then sets sail.

Anything can happen in life's journeys, both good and bad. If we can ensure that the ship is strong and secure, than we can brave any storms that erupt throughout our life.

Well, anyhow, you get the idea. The ship comparison was what we decided upon, and I rather like it. Strangely enough, neither of us are sea-faring individuals, lol.![]()
Till next time,
