Exiled in a kilt

blathering nonsense

Ok, I'm back. The busyness has subsided. Between work & the other stuff I need to get done around the house for spring/summer I have hardly stopped in weeks.

I have got the turf dug up for planting shrubs & I am going to attempt a small veg area this year - depending how succesful it is I will either get rid of it entirelt or create a bigger section for it.

The roof is getting re-shingled next week (structurally it is sound but the shingles are old and in need of repair). I am having incredible difficulty getting a hold of a contractor to install a fence however. I would normally do it myself but I am busy and cant really be bothered, if none of them get back to me by next week I will do it myself. I have never done the joinery for building a gate before, but dont suppose it can be too difficult.

Not read anything in a month.

Rangers due to win all 4 competitions they entered this season.

Blue Jays bats stinking out MLB, but at least the pitching is good.

Blue Jays will be competitive. Unfortunately they will be able to beat up on my Orioles all year long. If they get some hitting they may make the playoffs. You sound very domesticated Kilt. Now you need a wife.

Ya know we can't find anybody to do our fences either. (We thought it was because it was 1400 ft with barbwire)

Boy are my Tigers stinking this year or what?? At least the Pistons and Wings are still hanging in there.

About that gate --- I have lived in two houses that had gates made by someone who had never done it before. Neither functioned as a gate should. On the other hand, I seem to recall seeing a certain wood thing you put together and it looked really good in the picture so maybe you can pull it off.

I agree with Virgil about the domestication of Kilt...not so sure about the wife part though. One of my best friends bought a house, and now he is the home improvement poster boy. Its a good healthy way to exhaust yourself. Don't forget the reading though. Good Luck with the fence and gate. Cheers, B
