Exiled in a kilt

The Fence & other nonsense

Ok, I have all the stuff ordered for the fence. It will go up this weekend. All in I think I am looking at having spent approx $600 on it - much better than the 2K the contractor wanted.

I noticed a request for pics, will get to this eventually.

Head is feeling like normal i.e empty

Checked the glasgow section of the BBC website. 11 articles: 5 are about someone getting murdered. 2 are about things getting stolen. 1 about vandalism. 1 reporting that Scotland has the highest rate of fatlities of women during childbirth in Western Europe (twice the UK average) but not all is lost the positives are we are getting a flying doctor for the western Isles (ok they aint that remote) & a team of Glasgow archaeologists have found a grave of hundreds of British & Australian soldiers from WW1. - yep if it involves death just look to glasgow - its one of the few areas we still excel

Yeah I woud like to see a picture. Good luck. Are you cementing them into the ground? Sorry to hear the bad news on Glasgow. Newspapers only emphasize the negative. I've grown to despise them. As if this is the whole picture of life in Glasgow. I didn't get a chance to spend too much time there when I was in Scotland, but it seemed like a nice down to earth city. It felt a little like Brooklyn where I grew up, but of course with a Scotish accent.

That is great to be able to do the job and at such a savings. It will be hard work but SO worth the effort.

You know you're right kilted, the news seems only to be interested in death and disorder; I'm sure there are plenty of fantastic things going on in Glasgow right now - I always find it a really vibrant city. Mind you, when the Rangers fans were in town I wasn't so impressed with their 'vibrancy'! Still, it's a city with a heart, no worse than anywhere else.

Virg, yep posts will be cemented in place 4ft down (basic frost line criteria), 2 bags of cement per post, using sono-tubes.
