a bit of what is going on with me

Rate this Entry
The end of the semester has come. I’m done with all of my testing and just waiting on grades. Actually I’m just waiting on one more grade. I have five As and I don’t know if I will have an A or a B in the last class. I’m sure that if he knew I was checking for that grade every half hour he would let me know what it is.

I started La Miserables Monday night. I’m 1/3rd of the way through it and it is a wonderful book. My reading list has some great books, but I don’t know if I’ll get to all of them. I plan to do the reading for my American Lit summer class now so that I can just take the test and be done in that first week. I have two science classes at the same time so I think that will help my work load.

I’m cleaning out the house. I started with the kitchen yesterday and I’m so proud of it. It’s so clean and there is not crap stacked up on the counters. I love stay home me. I have breakfast made in the mornings and the kids are in bed on time. I love having my house cleaned from top to bottom. I can’t keep it like this during the school year so I try to do a really good job when I can. I just don’t know where all of this stuff comes from. I know I don’t buy it. I guess I can blame my mother for a lot of it. Tomorrow I attack the scary room- it’s a little room behind the laundry that has the deep freeze and water heater and lots of crap stacked up so that I can’t even get to the deep freeze. I’ll be really glad when that’s done.

I went for a job interview today. They want to give me the job, but I can’t manage the hours. The pay isn’t that great, but the benefits are wonderful. I hate to turn down a job when a recession is coming, but I will have to call her and say not thanks. I’m going to apply at the school to do some substituting. I won’t have to worry about getting the kids to and from school and subs don’t really do a whole lot of work. I think that will be great for getting homework done. Plus, I can say no if they need me on a day I have too much homework.

The weather here is lovely tonight. It’s misty and cool. I’m going to sleep with the window open.

Don’t forget the little challenges that Anza is giving us. I hope everyone gives it a go, it’s not hard or time consuming. You should check it out.

thanks Anza and thank you for leading the way. PnB, I toss more than I clean- that's why I say cleaning out not cleaning up.

I know others with the tree still up. I have a small house so there is no room to keep things around. it makes it easier really.

say it ain't so. you really think a recession is coming on? the economy isn't going to turn around??? actually, I don't know what to think about it. As far as some people are concerned, we're already in a recession. as far as the house goes, I can relate to that. I have slowly been attacking small jobs since school ended. We also had an outside home improvement and we need to do something with the yard. But I am taking baby steps. life by the inch is a cinch. life by the yard is hard

Don't worry about a recession. It's either passed or never occured. I bet it never occured. The worst is over. Plus it's a slow down without much of unemployment. Unemployment rate actually dropped in April. It's the damn gas prices that's getting people. And I can't believe people actually support dong something for a nebulous concept as global warming. Watch the gas prices when the environmentalists get their way. Congrats on the grades. Sorry for the rant.

Great job on your grades:) Good luck with the house cleaning. I'm actually a little disturbed to say that I miss it. I love all the little things like keeping house and cooking dinner for my family. Take care, and good luck next term. Do you have a break for the summer time, or are you working right on through? Take Care, Meg

Good job on the grades, what a great example you are! You make me smile about how you go about cleaning -- I've been threatening to do that very thing -- instead of a storage bag, a GARBAGE BAG ... my hubby is worried... How's your garden? Chickens? Sorry, I'm nosy! Kizzo
