Hey, I haven't blogged in a long time, so good to pop in!

Well, according to the numbers, the most users ever online was 1,136 on April 26, 2006.

Think that we can beat that number?

So if you are reading this blog entry, maybe you are wondering what all those people were thinking that day when they came here to visit. I am thinking that it was the usual members, along with a few schools that tuned in ... or somethin' like that. Anyhow, I will be curious to know what April 26th brings ...

And stuff on me. Well, it is snowing here once more, a smack upside the head considering that we had one week of gorgeous weather. Barbecues, flip flops, why ... even suntan lotion on the face.

Oh well, I know it won't last. And I think everyone knows my stance on snow. Snow is good for ya! Yay!

I re-read my copy of Catcher In The Rye. I liked that book. I wished that Salinger had made a sequel to the book, following some more of the life of Holden Caulfield ... Oh heck, I just didn't want that book to end, thats all.

Now I am reading Salinger's Franny and Zooey, and enjoying it. I like Salinger's writing style and plan to read more of his work.

    Yeah, I was a dedicated fan of Salinger myself. I even wrote to him once after I read "Seymour: an Introduction" supposedly written by Buddy the next oldest of the Glass family. I was convinced that the story was autobiographical and it was so heart-wrenching that I wrote in the hope of cheering Salinger up. Never got a reply.

    It may be as many as 30 years now since he last published anything but the rumours are that he still goes to the concrete studio on his property and writes every day. By now the mystery of what he is up to has become fascinating in itself.

    I don't know if it would please you as much or in the same way, but consider reading the curious incident of the dog in the night-time (lower-case by design) by Mark Haddon.

    Awww, Kiz, here you are! Hey I love snow too, and I haven't seen it for sooooo long. And I love The Catcher In The Rye too!! Woooo!! I love Holden, I had a crush on him when I was younger because he represented The American guy to me, the lost guy too, and I also shared his frustrations to some extent. I love the way it is written too, I love this book, it is my favorite.

    I rekon we could beat that number if we tried... I'd do my best to help make a new record if we managed to find a way! I agree, it is a lovely photo. Enjoy the snow! I've never seen real snow, because we don't get it where I live.

    Ah Catcher in the Rye. ANother book I plan on never reading. SImple prejudice. In high school it was implied strongly that Holden is 'odd' and I did not want to be reminded any further of my own social failings. Have never seen cause to regret the decision. Similar feelings about Clockwork Orange not helped by the movie. Old friend Linda was offended by it and I made a pact with myself never to read or see the movie out of respect for HER. A small homage to a lost love.

    Oh Kiz, how I envy you your snow! Glad to see you're still around, still blogging, still smiling I hope I can vouch for the curious incident..., not sure how like Catcher in the Rye it is, but it is an excellent book.
