~~ Barbed Wire At Sun Down ~~
Karalynne Ducharme

Odd title for a blog entry, but oh well.

GOOD NEWS -- finally figured out (I didn't, my hubby did) how the heck one gets photos from their cell phone onto their computer. YAY! So I downloaded something like 146 pictures that I randomly took since October.

Here are some ducks that occupy my favorite skating rink (which is gone for another year, by the way -- too slushy now):

~~ Ducks In Early Morning With A Weird Box ~~

~~ and ~~

~~ Boys Chase The Girls ~~
or
~~ Fun On The Duck Pond ~~

Tons of fun, I must say! That day of the duck photos, I got up real early and somehow the sun shone differently or something, but I was happy with these shots (afterall, they came from my Cell Phone! Yay technology)

Lastly, this business of Gumby? Well, I have always loved Gumby, collected figurines, earrings, stuffed toys of him, even a coffee mug of this adorable bendable fellow. So, my dad, in his infinite generosity and creativeness, went to work and fashioned me a Gumby of his own making out of wood. I got misty, cuz he worked so hard on giving me this personable gift, one I would hold so dear.

Yup, life is going pretty good. So anyhow, here is a peek at my hero, Gumby (the real hero is my dad, but you knew that)

<---- cute, eh?

I had a grumbly boyfriend (years ago) who hated Gumby for his "bent head". Can you believe that? (think he was jealous of poor ol' Gumby). To the curb with him ... [no, not Gumby]

Love,

So how did you get the pics off your phone and on to the computer? That's a great Gumby by the way.

Those duck pics came out beautifully, and your dad did a fine job with the Gumby sculpture. I loved Gumby as a kid! Now I'm going to have the Gumby theme song stuck in my head all morning.

For Shalot -- first I used some cell phone menus and took all the photos taken and moved them (one at a time, dagnabit) to a selection called External Memory. That was not difficult, just time-consuming. Then, the magic was performed -- my hubby took a chip out of the side of the Cell Phone, stuck it in a thing that looks like it hold leads for those mechanical pencils? And he found a place in the back of our CPU to put it into, and a menu came up on the screen, which was easy to follow, and I dumped all those photos to a newly created file on the computer. I know that this is not a good guide on how-to, but that was the gist of what went on a couple of nights ago, here at the Paws residence.

A few years back there was a book out on the history of Gumby. And yes there are comics books--fairly cheap on e-bay. And not bad reading to boot.
