Halls of the Dark Muse

Memory Web

Memory Web

Loose strands
like spider webs
broken wisps
ever drifting down
vanishing as soon as
they touch the ground

Fingers grasping
as if through silken hair
always sliding away

Only cloud temptation
the invisible always felt
but every time you make a grab
it just drifts away

Presence still lingering
in shadow form
beyond the eyes
only a breath before
one dies.

Well I was close--it mentioned spiders and memory escaping. This does not mean however that I understand you as a poet (but we are getting there). I'm convinced you are a lady worth the knowing and with much to say. Somehow I feel comfortable knowing you are out there. The darkness in my life does not seem as bleak. thank you.
