Well, to start with the most pressing thing on my plate, I've done some research for Mandy. We'll be meeting on Thursday, and I just hope I can convince her to take the necessary steps. We'll see, but I will be sure to update on the situation when I can. I talked with a local battered women shelter, and they were able to tell me exactly what is needed to remove her from the situation. It is almost strange that it is both as difficult and simple as filling out the necessary paperwork.

Other bits to update. It just dawned on me that my house is really almost finished. I'm due to close on May 9th, and that is right around the corner. Even better, I may have finally found a job. I went for a second interview on Monday, and I'm waiting to hear back on the verdict. I should know by the end of the week, and then I'll be able to turn in my notice with my current employer. The timing would work out perfect since I would be in my new position by the time that I move into the new house with my kids. No worrying about how I'll get them home on the nights I work late, and we can return life to some semblance of normalacy. It is much needed.

The medication from the doctor seems to be helping with the headaches. The only complaint I have is that the muscle relaxer leaves me feeling very lethargic during the day time. At least I think it is the medication. I'm going to stay off of it for a few days to see if it is that, or it may just be this cold I've caught. It's nothing bad, but it is just enough to wear you down:sick:

All in all, things are looking better. Seeing and talking with Mandy tomorrow will ease my mind a bunch. I really think she is ready to take action. She's just needed someone to care enough to help. I hope all is going well for everyone else.
