Ok, as is usual... I start with an explanation. The first woman I ever fell in love with was my mother! She is the reason I picked dandelions every day. She gave me comfort when I hurt. She gave me kisses when I went to bed. She helped me in the ways of literature. She is my saving grace. I could not love this woman more! Now for my high school graduation letter from Mom.
(Note: Dad typed his, but Mother's is hand written in beautiful cursive.) Here is a link to a song to listen to, while you read this. Good God I Love Delbert McClinton... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj3I0...eature=related
My Mother has a collection of angels. I add to when I can. She is as dear to me now as she was when I was a child. Love shall overcome. I love you, Mom, Cheers BDear Peter,
. This is such an awesome time in your life. I bet you feel happy that school is over, excited and a little scared about the future. Sad that school is over, and maybe a little dissappointed that some things didn't turn out differently.
Watching you adapt to your adult life gives me a feeling of satisfaction. You are very intelligent and carry with you a good sense of humor. You have a stubborn streak which enhances your perseverence. You will be successful at whatever you attempt.
Peter (I love that name), your world is full of choices. There will be some right and wrong choices that wil be easy for you. But most of your choices wil be either or. Regardless of what path you take, consider your options as valuable learning experiences.
Nothing lasts forever. I will miss you when you leave in September Your sensitivity and compassion have helped me many times. Conversation with you has been a high point. Sharing your experiences with me has helped me to understand where you are coming from. The Reader's Digest vocabulary test will never be the same whithout you.
You have reached the point of no return, a fork in the road, and you will make some big changes in your life. Change can be so difficult and yet it always broadens our perspective, and enriches our lives.
Take good care of yourself - body + soul. Spend some time getting to know the neat kid you are. Introspection is hard work, but so rewarding. Use your humor to soften the hard times.
You have made me very proud. This above all to thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the Night, the Day, thou can'st not then be false to any man.
Love,
Mom
