An apple a Day...

You always hear that an apple a day will keep the doctor away, but well.... hmmmm someone lied to me. I just spent a good hour with the doctor today, and I get to go see a couple more.
First up, allergies. I'm having serious trouble with the cold. I break out in hives, and if I try running or jogging I will have issues breathing and such. I get to go see a specialist at the end of the month for this little malady.
I also mentioned that my tension headaches are becoming unbearble. I am having ones to the point that they are light sensitive. I had one so bad while I was in the doctor's office today, the neon lights almost made me ill. I expected a recommendation for a change in diet, ways to relieve stress and such. Nope, instead I have a prescription for muscle relaxers, and another coctail that is a mix of a pain medication, a sedative, and something to help open the blood vessels. I was going to argue, but I've been on at least the muscle relaxant before. I hate to take the pill each night, but they do help. I am hoping that I can get them back under my own control within the next few months as things begin to settle down in my life. I went a good two years with little or no medicinal help. All I would take is some Advil or Tylenol. It bothers me to once again be dependant on a possibly addictive mix of medication just so I can function each day. I can't have a headache that lasts for six hours or more and darn near incopacitates me five or six days a week. I'm exhausted and weary with the whole deal, and unfortunatly the dependancy on medication will just be another stress to me.
I finally had him take a look at my hand. I've one of two things. It may be carpal tunnel syndrom, but given the rapid onset and the fact that my hand will spasm and loose all feeling sometimes it may also be a pinched nerve. I'm to wear a brace at night, and I have to schedule in at the hospital to have the nerve function tested. Basically they are going to insert needles into the nerves and then run a current through my hand to see what type if any nerve damage there is. Either way all I can really do is avoid use until it heals and hope to find a job that will not continue to aggravate it.
On that note, my interview yesterday went pretty well. I have all my thank you notes mailed out, and I'm hoping to hear in the next few days if I'll be going foward with the interviewing. We'll see how things work out, but I think I would enjoy it if I do get the position.
I'm off for the night I think. I want to peek around here a bit more, and then I'm to bed. I feel ready to drop, and I've some 45 hours or so to work in the next four day:sick:
Take Care,
Meg
PS. Chapter 15 is posted, and I'm well into chapter 16 of my story. If you are reading I hope that you enjoy the new editions. They'll need a good bit of editing, but I'm just working to get the story written and then I can go through and tweak all the odds and ends.
