A Few Are Shepherds And The Rest Are Sheep

The song Gut Feeling by Dev-O has a gorgeous synthesizer solo in it and I'm trying to figure out the solo by ear. Been doin' good so far...I got the chords from the internet and that helped a lot.

That video helped a lot, too. It's fun playing it/figuring it out. I love playing DEVO on my piano and my keyboard. I learn so much about my instrument just playing their stuff.

I like playing other DEVO stuff, too, now that I am actually, for the first time in the eight years that I've played the piano, am starting to use chords. I really couldn't start much earlier. My hands were too small. They're just big enough now for me to hit multiple keys at once. Yay. Finally.

Rugrats is so subversive. I've been watching clips of the movie on YouTube and the last time I saw it I was...maybe six or so and I still know the lyrics to "A Baby is a Gift From a "Bob"". I never really like Rugrats, though. I was praisin' "Bob" even though I didn't know it. Ahahaha. I love it. And so many others, too. When I went to see my fourth graders on Thursday I played them DEVO's Witch Doctor song on my phone and asked them what movie it was from and this one girl said, "Ohhh ohhhh I know! I know this! Uh, uh! Rugrats!!!!!" Oh, man. I love it. I knew one of them would. So subversive. I remember thinking a while back "Yes...this whole "Bob" thing sounds os familiar." DEVO was right. Rebellion is obsolete. You've got to work things from the inside out. I mean, who hasn't heard the Rugrats theme?

"You never see us tired cuz we're way too smart for workin'. A monkey knows a lot more than a man."

"There is a direct connection between DEVO's work in the music field and a big wiggly world around us. You may not be aware of this, but we are in the middle of World War Three. It is not nuclear bombs that we must fear; the weapons is the human mind or lack of it on this planet. That will determine our fate."

Teach me! Teach me the ways!

Oh, guess what, you guys? The day that Mark Mothersbaugh has an art show near us (and one he'll be attending on top of it) is the day I get my wisdom teeth pulled out. I.e. this Thursday. Stupid wisdom teeth. I'm on Spring Break, too. Oh well. It still is kinda far away. An hour and half. Still don't think I could get up close to him anyways. I'd be way too nervous. I think I better go to a DEVO concert first anyways.
