Been Sick/Free Lance Work

Last week I came down with swollen glands and Tuesday of this week I came down with a bad head cold. Due to this head cold I did not go into work Wednesday and Thursday. Since I am working on a free lance basis I was not going to kill myself by going in sick like I used to when I was full time employee. Today I recvd an email from the director wanting to know if I wanted to work from home since the emails are piling up. My first reaction was no way. I do not owe them anything. It's not like I signed a contract or anything. Then I thought about it some more and said, if you can get me access from home, I'll do it. I was able to access the emails from work on my computer but could not connect to our main system.
My husband on the other hand didn't see a problem with them contacting me at home and asking if I wanted to work from home. He thinks I have an aversion to working since I have been home for almost a year. I am willing to work but need to find the right job where it is not too stressful and can still be able to control my diabetes. Stress for a diabetic can raise their blood sugar levels and I have been trying very hard to keep them down. I can handle stress but when it comes to work stress, I don't handle it very well. I get myself all worked up trying to get everything done in one day.
I also think that the director is getting a little stressed since she knows she is short staffed big time. I feel it is not my problem anymore. When I was still there and I had no staff, I had to do my job plus 3 other jobs as well. It was ok for me to do this but not for the current managers.
She's now going to try and get me to stay on a while longer since a new person is starting the end of April and my last day is 4/10. If they want me to stay longer and train that person then they will have to go back to the previous pay when I started and not the current pay that I get now for non-training.
I just wanted to vent a little, thats all.
