Rocky's Return

Rate this Entry
Title says it all. The dog came back. He's been in our garden and only just gone home. He was here for the evening, not exactly sure when he arived. Rocky was lively as ever, livelier in fact. A few new bottles of different varieties including the usual, a small water bottle and a Heinz bottle with a stay clean cap. During his stay he demolished a small, purple, plant pot and had a few leaks in the garden. About 9 ish I heard his owners calling him, a bit late I think but still. Mum couldn't get home early because she had to drop into Tescos on the way home. I stood outside waiting for her for a while and eventually the owner came round with a lead. Seeing as the back gate is so tricky and I could never open it alone I had to lead him through the house. I couldn't let the owner in because the house is a complete mess and has been for a long time (Hence our mouse trouble (bit reluctant to go into detail, maybe later)). So I took the lead and went round to put it on Mr Trouble. He was very lively and it took a while to get it on him. I could only get it on it's loosest setting because he was moving so much and he's got a thick neck so he could possibly slip out, but it seemed tight enough. I lead him through the house, having to keep him on track, opened the door. When he saw his owner I felt his full force and it was hard to keep hold of the lead without getting pulled over. I'm now confident I couldn't handle him alone. Seems he prefers other people's gardens. Wonder why. I atempted to convey the urgency of getting his escape route blocked by stating he could get run over (the real reason is this is my last week off and I'll be back at Uni. monday, but I couldn't tell him that because then he'd know the house is empty all day and we don't want that known (especially in our neighbourhood)). Anyway, Rocky should be home now. He's left muddy footfronts all through the house. Good thing our carpet's seen worse (cat **** springs to mind). I'm just left wondering if he'll pop up again before I go back to uni.

Bluebiird out.

sounds like the owner is not that responisbile. What if you tell the owner the next time the dog does any type of damage in your yard that they will be responsible for it.

Yes, but the fence is flimsy and old, cats get in easy, still not sure how easy it is for the dog, he's a lot bigger. It seems quite easy to get in but not to get out.

I considered sayign I'd charge damages but I worried they might leave him with us if I did We can't take care of a dog anymore.
