Awesome photos. The gorilla pic is beautiful Virgil. The art of photography is so enhanced by patience. I used to hike the mountains all day waiting for the perfect sunlight to fall on a location. Then I'd look at the images, and realise I had dozens of perfectly lit pictures just by waiting a little bit. Keep up the roaming adventures. B

I love giraffes... and animals... that's a zoo I'd like to go to. I've only ever been to the toronto zoo, which, granted, isn't bad.

Those are great pictures. Santa Barbara is my hometown. I certainly need a visit there.

I used to go to the S.B. zoo all the time when I lived there. It's such a charming little zoo. I loved that aviary with all the parrots flying around among the trees. Was the crooked neck giraffe still there when you visited?

Nice photos, Virgil...especially of the Gorilla. He looks like he's one step away from yanking you inside. Hope there is protective glassing

The gorilla was the star but I was also intrigued by the tortoises. And never saw a giraffe that close before.

I love the monkey... how he's hanging there, looking at the camera.. what kind of monkey is it? the gorilla is a great picture too... I've only been to Toronto Zoo before... this one looks good though.. though it is kind of sad to see animals no longer in the wild...

Thank you everyone. Petrarch: Yes the crooked neck giraffe was still there. In that second giraffe photo in the background you can see others. The crooked neck one is I think the one right beside it. Keyheld: No protective glass where I clicked that picture; just a high wall that I had to bend over. That’s why it’s looking down. Shalot: Yes that was the luck, catching him at a moment of apparent contemplation. Rich: That was off a feeding platform, so you actually got to touch the giraffe’s tongue. Climber: I don’t remember what kind of monkey that is. I was there in July and I didn’t write it down.

Yeah, nice pics!! That reminds me of that place here in France where you can drive your car in the middle of wild animals, and some of them put their heads through the windows, that's funny! I also walked among monkeys who were funny cause they would always steal water bottles and junk food from your hands. They stole your glasses sometimes too, which was not as funny.

Virgil, those pictures are fantabulous!! My favorite would have to be Mr. Gorilla, so handsome and lost in thought!
