Open Mic

I just got home from the library where I attended a poetry open mic. It was a lot of fun. Our little local newspaper had a reporter there taking pictures and there was coffee and cookies. The little round tables had long white tablecloths with a single pussy willow centerpiece.
Of my own, I read The Hobby, Extinguisher, Tranquility, and Black, and sang a fun song called Chocolate. I also got to read several of our leader's poems because he is legally blind. He has been nominated for Indiana's Poet Laureate.
Now it's back to reality. My son is coming over to pick up a drum set out of the garage and I need to do some work out there. I'm not really ready to clean the whole thing yet. It's too chilly outside. I guess it won't kill me to start on it though. I need to have a garage sale as soon as school is out.
I went to see Under the Same Moon last night. Very sweet movie.
I've really enjoyed my spring break. I think I can make it a couple more months now.
I may have to make a trip to the nursery later this afternoon and pick up some herbs.

I love this, this poetry reading! That sounds so...cosy. Yes you seem to be enjoying yourself and that's great. I am going to have a piece of chocolate cake now, will you have some with me?

It does indeed sound like fun. I don't know anything about the movie you mentioned but some I've seen and enjoyed in the last while are "Juno," "Junebug," "TheLives of Others" & "Michael Clayton" - very gripping is the last & my intuition is that you might enjoy "Junebug." Just arrived from the site I subscribe to are "Gone, Baby, Gone" and the first season of "The Larry Saunders Show," which I was a slave to when it was first on TV.

What a sweet invitation. I'd love some chocolate cake....and Prince....I just have to hook up my DVD player and go visit the video store. I loved Juno and Michael Clayton. Let me know what you think of the ending of Gone Baby Gone. Did he do the right thing?

Oh I haven't been to a poetry reading since college, and that was undergrad, so that has to be twenty something years. Glad you enjoyed it.
