Well!
I've been collecting the ClassicDrama DVD magazine thats out at the moment. With each issue you get a bbc drama which is spread out over either one or two issues. I got the second part of the 2004 verson of Elizabeth Gaskells North and South, (which Nightshade had recommended to me a few months ago...) and decided to watch it on sunday evening after work. Was four hours long.

It was fantastic! Oh My god!! there was such chemistry between the two main actors portraying Mr John Thornton and Miss Margaret Hale. The intensity of their fleeting glances! It was brilliant! I have never read the book (i will be now i can tell ya!) so i didnt quite know what it was about but i have fallen head over heels in love with the story. I know the world is Mad for Pride and Prejudice ( i am too in some respect) but i think this story has so much more to it! I was shouting at the character, and when Thornton was standing at his door watching her leave in a carraige and was saying "look back at me" I was shouting "just look back at him!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSDjP...eature=related
If anyone wants to see a great adaptation, i recommend this one.
I thought it was so great that my head was filled with it going to sleep and whe ni woke up that I had to watch it again. Which i did. Thats never happened to me before with a movie. I literally watched it twice in twenty four hours and i'm telling you one thing. I could watch it again RIGHT NOW!
I think this is beautiful, Its a song with a video done up of clips from the adaptation

What did I tell you ? It has got to be one of my favourite books EVER!
And the series was pretty amazing too, really they should teach this in schools rather than Pride and predjudice their is so much more in it, strikes, mutiney prejudice, the industrial revolution, Richard Armitage.....

I couldnt agree with you more! Not to mention it deals with the change of religious view that was going on at the time, child labour, Richard armitage.... I read the book since and *clears throat* watched it again.....
