Exiled in a kilt

meaningless nonsense

So here I am. Home, (got day off in exchange for working Friday & Monday). I took the vehicle to the shop the other day - looks like it has finally outlived its time. May cost more to repair than it is worth. So, I have been looking at new vehicles. I reaaaally want a smartcar, but that is probably out of my price range. Will look for an old second hand beater for about $1000 & drive it into the ground again I think.

Its snowing again today, so much for Spring I want sun and an end to shovelling, could be worse tho' could have the flooding like down south.

Got a new table tennis table for the basement, it is taking shape nicely. The basement is really the rec-room: Home-Gym; Pool Table; Dartboard & now the tt table. Would like to pick up a cheap air-hockey table too, will need to keep an eye out at the countless garage sales which should be taking place sometime soon.

hey, there is a new car from india that may be marketed over here soon, that will have a retail price of $2500... and then the french company renault is starting on developing a car that will retail at $4100 new... but I think the $1000 beaters are the best kind of car.. I had an old toyota corolla from 1987 that cost me $1000 and was cheap on gas, ran amazingly well, and took me wherever I wanted to go, until I left it parked on a logging road while I was ice climbing overnight. and when I came back someone had shot it up with a shotgun and driven over it with their truck.. fun fun.. :P

snowing here too again, when will winter end! your rec room sounds great... but as B says, don't forget the foosball... cheers

I have plans for a rec room in the basement, too. I want one of those big pull down movie screens that you project the movies on. I think that would be a lot of fun on movie night. I hope the basement is cool enough that the kids will want to hang out here with their friends instead of driving somewhere. I worry about accidents and drunk drivers and how crazy some teens can be. I like to drive my cars in the ground, too. My husband keeps saying that if we don’t trade in we won’t be able to get anything out of what we have but I like the sound of paid for. Sounds great, doesn’t it? He likes to drive something nice- it’s a good thing he married a tight wad or he’d be all kinds of broke!

Those smart cars are cute (but would they be able to withstand the Manitoba Winter I ask myself -- you don't see those out during winter). You have milder winters, Kilted, in Ontario. I hope that you can get a reasonable price on one, ya never know! Good luck.
