Part II
Auni shut Madoline's door. Madoline was so happy in Nyeymouel. Fia spoiled her rotten. She had beautiful dresses, Madoline's hair swept past her lower back and it now had been curled. Auni smiled. It did concern her, though, how comfortable Madoline had become. She pushed the thought out of her mind.
You shouldn't ignore that subject. The voice said.
And why not? Auni reproached.
You should know why.
"Ugh..." Auni grumbled as she burst into a sprint. She headed straight toward the balcony that was several stories off the ground and jumped off. She did several flips and landed peacefully on her feet. Two years ago she could have never done that. Two year?... Yes, Auni had been at Nyeymouel for two years now. Nothing much had changed... As if! Auni mastering her martial arts. She was now able to hit Jiedm every once in awhile as the sparred. She was nineteen and was slightly able to speak Nyeymouelian and could grab bits of things people said. The only thing she could not say had changed was her understanding of Cointa.
Kioshi had never answered Auni’s question to what Cointa was. That annoyed Auni very much. Why wouldn’t he tell her? Was it not obvious that Auni had no idea what Cointa was? And the last couple of months were becoming worse. Her hand would start glowing when ever Jiedm was around or when she got angry. Then last week was the worst. Auni had been sparring with a girl when suddenly her hand burst out jets of blue light. The girl was thrown back and broke her arm. Since then, Kioshi would not let anyone spar with her other then Jiedm.
Jiedm was still very quiet but a special friendship had grown between the two. A very special friendship. Sometimes after a lesson Auni and him would go out on walks and the would stroll around Nyeymouel. Usually Madoline accompanied them.
A pain rose up in Auni’s heart... She was home sick again. She missed earth so much, her mom, Eligantia.... She held down a sob. No, that life was over-forever. When she returned to her home- her earthly home- life would never return to how she remembered. When would she got home? I will go home. Auni assured herself. But it would not be easy taking Madoline away. She had become close to many people there. A streak of jealousy sparked. Madoline was so attached to Kioshi. She was not afraid to hold his hand nor run up to him. Kioshi even smiled for her sometimes. When he first smiled at Madoline, Auni only caught a glimpse of it. But just through that glimpse, Auni was floored. Yet the smile wasn’t so much visible on his face- his mouth only lifted slightly- but it was seen through his eyes.
The pouch strapped to Auni’s arm started to ring. She pulled out her cell phone and flipped it open. She looked at the screen and was puzzled.
************************************************** **********************
A teenage boy- being about fifteen- lifted up a huge sword just as if it were made out of light plastic. He wielded it around his head and thrust it forward at the attacking opponent. The opponent was gutted in the rib and blew up....
“I said hit for his heart!” a man yelled at the teenager.
“Sorry, master...” the teenager said, his voice was steady and showed no emotion. “At least I killed it.”
“Oh, so you think you’re that good, eh? Well, in that case...” He pressed some buttons on a board and seven more robotic opponents emerged from the wall.
The teenager smiled... he loved surprising challenges. The robots surrounded him, each had its own special weapon. One had a sword, another a blade gun, the next some type of blade that lit up... The teenager just stood there, past training taught him not to be the first to fight unless absolutely necessary. A movement in the left corner of his eye caught his attention and he swung around in time to have a robot punch him in the face. The boy flew back and landed flat on his back. Ignoring all pain that erupted, the boy shot to his feet and gored a robot in its stomach. It exploded and smoke filled the air. It burnt his eyes and he had trouble seeing, so he shut his eyes and listened.
Cling!
The boy opened his eyes again and fought off the robot who had tried to strike him. He leaped several feet into the air and the robot meet him. It smiled and kicked. The boy flew toward the wall and landed horizontally.
"Not today," he whispered and launched himself at the robot.
Bam! A swipe at the ribs, sent it falling toward the ground... not dead. So the boy let himself fall on it and crushed its head. He gored the rest easily till the room was filled with smoke and sparked with broken robots. The man opened the window and smoke blew away. Standing in the middle of the room was the teenager, still ready for whatever might have been lurking in the smoke... When seeing all that was there was his master, he eased up his tension. Across his arm was a deep wound, but he hardly seemed to notice. The master walked up to him slowly.
"Your training is over," the master said, "None of my pupils where ever able to kill the first one."
Kioshi woke from another agonizing flash back... He knew what they were telling him. He knew what everyone was telling them... To start telling Auni about Cointa and what she was here for... Goxacu had told him from the beginning, but over the last few months, he has been nagging uncontrollable. Fia was getting concerned and started to debate whether or not she should think about changing teachers. And now Jiedm had made several indirect hints that Auni should start learning to use Cointa. But now, he himself new that he had to tell and teach Auni her goals and her future.
He sat up and picked up his cell phone and called Auni.
