Information We Want Information

Within the last week the Dayton, Ohio area got more snow dumped on us that only Jenny the calltaker delighted in as she loves to do snow angels with her daughter. Most people just relied on AAA for those pull out of snow bank needs.

One quick amusing (to me) story occured. A calltaker takes information that a car is "to the side of the dw (driveway)" needing winched free. Relatively simple. The station isn't too busy--probably an hour to finish. Or so I thought.

Roughly 40 minutes later the station is on location and the onimous words come out of the radio: "I'm going to need a different truck."

I start channeling the famous quote from Jaws by Roy Scheder about a bigger boat and I'm far off.

I remark: "This isn't a piece of cake??" trying for that tone of voice that remains hopeful and encouraging and that all is weel with the world.

"The car is about 75 FEET from the driveway.

Information always information is only as good as you get.

Wow, that is unbelievable. Must make a person gray, eh? I know -- put a nickel in a jar every time something totally ridiculous happens while you are at work. By the end of the year, you will have enough to treat yourself to some juicy comics, Rich! By the way, my hubby stormed his way into a huge snowbank at the very end of our driveway and I called CAA to bail us out. I thought of you all the while. Those guys are very courteous, patient, and we were out of that snowbank before the hour was out. Yay for CAA and AAA.
