Dead Battery

Yep. Went out this morning, fifteen minutes before my class is to begin and my car wouldn't start. Luckily my friend was working at the Household Pantry today and she zipped over and picked me up so I still arrived before my students.
So, after school I purchased a new battery and another friend's husband, who is a tow truck driver, is stopping by to change it for me. I wish I weren't such a girlie girl and could do it myself. I don't believe the actual procedure is that difficult but just finding the correct tools...heck, just finding the battery was a task. It's under the air filter. I think that's what that is. Naturally there isn't enough light in the garage and it's very very cold with snow flurries here and there. It will definitely be worth paying someone with experience.
I tried to buy the new battery at a friend's auto parts store but he didn't have the one I needed. Darn. I really wanted to support his small downtown shop. Within the last six months two big auto parts chains have opened up in town and I'm afraid he is going to be run out of business.
Boy, I sure would like to take a nap.

I sympathize about not knowing how to repair a car. I have no idea where are the different parts either, nor do I know how they are called.

I suppose I qualify as a girly-girl too since I wouldn't have a clue how to change my car's battery.

On the other hand how many of you girly-girls can pee standing up?

    lol Prince...you girly girl.
UPDATE: Lyle said, "No charge." I'm starting to get quite a list of people I need to have over for dinner. That was really nice of him.

I hope you got your nap and I'm glad you made it to school on time. Lucky you had a friend near by

Oh, and Prince, if you should read this, about that peeing standing up stuff, 'several' years ago, on a lovely fall afternoon, I was basking in the sunlight shining through the picture window, lost in thought as I nursed my sweet little baby boy, when I glanced across the street and saw a little girl on her way home from school lift the front of her plaid Catholic school uniform, spread her legs slightly and pee beside a tree. Perhaps she peed against the tree but I didn't go inspect. I let out such a laugh I woke the baby.

I cannot pee standing up. I once made the experiment. Didn't work.

I hate car trouble! Especially now that everything is computer run. I once changed an alternator by myself on an old car...took me 4 hours to get the thing off and about 15 minutes to get the new one back on. I think I could handle a battery if I had to, but I refuse to change tires.
Prince, we females can pee standing up, we just tend to get pretty wet.
