Weldone Glen and Marketa!

A Few months back i saw the movie Once and it blew me away.
I remember that when i finished watching it, that it was understandable why it won an award at the Sundance and Irish film festivals.
I went around telling everyone that they should see the movie, and telling them it was worthy of an Oscar.
When i heard it was getting nominated for best original song i got excited! (although i had best film in mind ) but then there was speculation over whether or not it would be allowed. I'm glad it was!
I'm so happy that it won the award because it really deserves it.
Also the two main actors, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova (also the writers of the song) fell in love after they filmed the movie, so thats got to show teh passion they put into the songs.
Weldone!!!!!
Heres the song

Once was well under the radar here at Dayton Ohio and until never heard of it as I ignored the Oscars this year as I have of late but that was a lovely tune and the heart warmed. Will be looking this up on IMDB in a minute or two. To the surprise of my co-workers who now I love super-heroes I like love story movies even better. There is more hope of better things.

In the scene before this sone she is asked if she would like to write the lyrics to go along with a tune he had, but couldnt write the words for. This is the song she creates. Truely beautiful...

I watched the second song and confess a preference for the first. The line about pointing the boat home appeals to me somehow. Found the video dark to watch. The singer is appealing because she doesn't 'sound' produced. Really sounds like someone singing naturally. No my cat Marbles has taken to sitting on the top of the monitor (I know--bad idea) and he heard the singing and batted his paw at the young lady walking down the sidewalk. Too cute.
