Well, I'm home for a couple of days, and its maybe 70 degrees warmer here than when I left northern Alaska. The temperature is hovering around the freezing point. A snowstorm is approaching with the threat of a foot of snow on the way.

I've already started 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being'. It already holds insights to me, which I can appreciate. I especially can relate to the portion early in the book where the author writes that his insomnia is related love, and how he can't sleep in a bed with a woman unless he loves her. Looking forward to the rest of the book. I've lost interest in the book Gravity's Rainbow as it digresses and convolutes around characters with farfetched and difficult to sympathise with or even recognise. Also started reading Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco, which I'm finding to my liking.

Oh well, I head back up north in 3 days.

Way too much traveling for me. I'm a stay at home type which was ironic joining the military. What sort of work do you do??
