For Andave Who Worries Well

Was reading Andave Ya's blog and discovered I was missed. It has been awhile. Much has happened to people around me. Not a whole lot seems to be happening to me per se. Writers blog, boredom, finances, Janurary blues I guess.
We'll alternate good news/bad news entries.
Good: Son James, after over four months, finally gets a prepaid phone and calls. I gently tell him I've cut off the freebies from the Bookery I was getting because things are getting tighter and no money forthcoming from him on what he owes the store and me. He takes it well. Mari Grace is fine and Loretta is doing well. Both Jim and Loretta are doing college and coming along nicely. Jim spends most of the phone time talking about college to Ruth. Expects to start paying off his Bookery file (then me) shortly.
Bad news: Shelia has moved. Have no idea where but assuming still in Clark county. Still no contact with Damion. My stance holds firm.
Good: Second grand-child Ron was 3 years old day after Grace86's birthday. The 31st. Managed some presents but have not seen him yet due to:
Bad: My car won't start. Since Thursday my first day of four in a row off. Had it jumped, fired right off but died after AAA left. Decided to wait until Monday to have battery checked (under warranty) before tow to my usual repair place. So I've been home all weekend doing as little as possible what with Ruth's school/work schedule.
Good: The latest Shadow reprint came out. Number 14 reprinting one of the very best Shadow novels Gibson ever penned--The Grove of Doom. That story has been reprinted twice before since 1933 but always severely edited. This is the complete version. Two houses separated by a grove. People walk into the grove. Some do not come out the other side. Who is the mysterious Chinaman Lei Chang and his sinister master Koon Woon? What secret do the dwellers in the two households share. The Shadow knows. If you were to ever read a Shadow this would be one of the top five to have had the pleasure thereof. Better yet the long suffering one paid for it.
Bad news: She also paid for a T-Mobile phone for Texas friend Patty. Worse--co-signed the contract too. Then got a new credit card to cover Patty's chat time and texting. You don't want to know trust me. I discovered this by opening up the bill for a new credit card that arrived that I thought was junk. NOTE: As a husband I monitor ALL bills that enter chateau Mtpspur. Personal letters including e-mail for Ruth are left alone by me. The drama queen has had an interesting past two days over this. What annoyed me the most was Ruth got a higher startup credit balance then I've been able to get as I reluctantly obtained a new credit card to help pay off the recent car repair bills.
Good news: Ruth's car broke again but was covered by warranty. The cam shaft broke and she lost all her oil. It's running now.
Bad news: Nephew still getting nowhere getting his wife back. The court will be sentencing him on his drunk driving charges February13 and he'll do 6 months to a year county.
Good news: Little to no whining about it. Plus in jail he'll eat regular and have medical treatment.
Bad news: My latest doctor appointment did not go well. No I'm not going anywhere soon but I should have an interesting future down the road. I'm stuck with monthly checkups now. He wants me on a short leash. Mostly the blood pressure.
Good news. Now have 72 Avengers out of 503. Found Felix the Cat #10 from the 1950s for only $5. Rough shape but doable. I think Tim at the Bookery thought its condition beneath my standards but I cut the cartoon comics a wider slack on condition. And my King of the Royal Mounted strips arrived save and sound from an e-bay auction. Have 204 Sundays now.
Bad news: Logos still won't give me a phone number. I was joking about calling collect. Her lawyer isn't so sure.
Good news: The Mrs Mtpspur picture can be seen on her profile. We are still ignorant on putting pictures on the forum.
Bad news: No funny, unique AAA stories the past two weeks. Been pretty routine there. And House only has two new episodes to go. Writer's strike. Sigh.
Good news: Finally watching The Wild, Wild West in production order (not necessarily the broadcast order). For instance Dr. Loveless makes his first appearance in the third broadcast but that was actually sixth produced. Thanks to a book I have on the history of the show. I've watched seven so far. Always chasing the childhood.
Better news: Finished Volume 58 of the Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit and am in Volume 59 now.
So Andave share the computer with your sister more then she expects you to and I'm sure there will be blessings from the Lord. I wish I knew more about music to have an intelligent conversation with but if it helps I hear Enya in my mind when thinking about Lord of the Rings. I'm more a fan of movie theme music. The Great Escape, Patton, The Molly Macguires (an old Sean Connery from early 60s), the James Bond movies of course. Sean Bean as Richard Shape in those movies--Over the Hills and far Away. The Prisoner TV show theme music is a great favorite to hum and The Wild Wild West of course. That was the theme I hummed to Mari Grace when I held her last Sepember. For probably the only time as a little one. To name a few.
