Bet you thought this was going to be something worth reading. Sorry.
Well, Poppy, in an effort to make me feel better about having my tonsils out, checked the internet about recovery for adults after the surgery. What a buddy! He tells me that it will be the worse three weeks of pain I’ve ever experienced, and that adults tend to bleed more than children. But not all adults bleed to death. Also, he tells me that I will have to space my pain medicine out so I’ll be able to eat about 30 minutes after taking. I feel so much better now. I’m not really worried about it, well, I wasn’t.
We’ve had some really cold weather here in the Ozarks. No snow and just a little bit of ice, but near and below zero for about a week. I don’t mind the cold because I have heated seats in my car, but wouldn’t it be nice if we all had someone to go out and warn up our cars for us? When I win the lottery, I’ll hire someone just for that.
I’ve become addicted to MSNBC of late. It’s the election coverage they have, I think. But Keith and Chris and Joe have become my best friends. I wake up to them and go to sleep with them. I think I’m going to have to find something when the election is over or I’ll go through the worse kind of withdrawals. What ever did I do before cable news? I just about cried because I missed the last debate and it was the best one yet. I remember waiting for Walter Cronkite to tell the nation what we needed to know then reading the full story in the evening papers. Now, there is no reason to read the paper. We get so darn much information that we are overwhelmed and I tend to block it out. I think I could live the rest of my life without hearing another word about Brittany Spears and her mental problems. It’s like my brother said, “You can take the trash out of the trailer park, but it’s still trash.” No offense to anyone who lives in a mobile home. Lots of folks have mobile homes around here and they are nice folks. As a matter of fact, the first time I lived out on my own, I lived in a trailer park….lasted a couple of months then I missed my Mom. She lived about two miles away. Well, Morning Joe is on and I can’t miss what they learned today.
