River Ledger Byron

All brilliant talents cut down in the pride of life because of their own self-destructiveness. What a tragic, cosmic waste. I could wax philosophical at this point, but don't much feel like it.

Strange how Ledger passed on Byron's birthday and how River played a gay rent boy while Ledger played a gay cowboy, and both won Oscar nods for it before they died.

Playing a gay lover in a movie can be hazardous to your health, as well as being a descendant of Bruce Lee.

Ledger's father referenced some poem by Tennyson about young deaths and flames that burn brightest. I don't recall that poem and it doesn't sound like Tenny at all (Chief Victorian). Anyone know the poem?

Its interesting to note, that Ledger's character which lives through the movie is the one that died. And that the actor that died is still alive. While you are pointing out the coincidences. The poem...not sure, but there was a boy that was a close friend of the family. He died around his graduation. Cancer. Anyways, we have the same name. I collapsed at his funeral from kneeling for so long. Later when I attended high school. I was awarded a scholarship for football. It was the scholarship he that was named after him. The poems we heard at his memorial were "On an Athelete Dying Young" and I think "Ode to a Grecian Urn", but there were dozens of poems, and hundreds of sad people at this beautiful memorial.
