Life

Lux et Veritas (Light and Truth)

Rate this Entry
People percieve truth as a far-seeing light, that exposes everything it touches. Truth creates balance. Truth fixes all. But most importantly, truth is bright. Why?I think there is only a bare few who quite understand the absurdity of it all.
I don't understand why truth must be light. What then, when truth is far more sinister than a thousand lies? What then, when truth lay in shadows?
Was it a bright truth when my parents told me they were seperating? Was it a bright truth that Paul was an alchoholic?

No. A thousand times, no.
But that does not mean that one cannot make light of a dark truth. There is no point in lingering on a bad situation. I do not resent that I had to cook and clean when my parents were seperated. Instead, I relished the "learning experience," every day thinking how life could always be worse.
And it could have been-- only the people who don't watch the news, or are the subject of the news are dissatisfied with their lives.
So right now I'm starting a trend-- every time something bad happens to you, remind yourself that it could always be worse. Try it sometime, I solemnly vow that it even has the power to change who you are.

The truth is what it is. By exposing the dark there is room for healing, loss of deception and the fabric of lies that make up who we think we are. I am sorry you have had such a hard life. As I told a young hitchhiker recently breakups are rarely the fault of the children. They are the collateral damage. When the time comes (in years ahead) do better by yours. That is what truth can do. I use it myself to keep my moral compass on track. The compass has a mind of its own sometimes. Truth can prevent fture mistakes/sins what have you and it provides guidelines for behavior and proper actions that need or not need to be taken. I like the fact you are choosing not to linger--now choose to avoid that oh so subtle bitter taste of regret. Hope this helps.
