Happy Ending

Well, the Police finally came to my sister's home and took our friend the Charmer with them. As it all turned out -- there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest for some other misdemeanor.... So what a night indeed. At least he is gone now. My dad can go back to his quiet dinners with my mom (I actually think that he enjoyed the excitement, mind you, because he got to tell this fellow to 'behave himself' -- my dad is soooo cute!)
Pause for a cute picture
(no one I know, mind you, just cute!)
I had a moment of 'oh yeah, I remember that' the other day, and smiled at good times growing up at home.
My parents would go out and leave my older brother and I 'in charge' of the three other siblings (one of whom was the feisty sister). Well, a heck of a brooo-ha-ha started and got quite out of control. My elder brother was trying to study, so he told me to handle it. There was bickering a-plenty going on between the two littlest ones and miss Feisty. I tried to make things smoother, but miss Feisty started to swing at me. Things got louder and louder, when all of a sudden, the front doorbell rang.
My mom had stuck a butter knife between the door and the door jamb (hope you can picture this), for 'added security' while she was out. But anyhow, I pulled out the knife and open the door and hollered 'yes?!' in an exasperated tone (remember the hullabaloo previous to the door bell).
A young man toting a picnic basket had very round swirling eyes and they were swirling in my face -- I realized that I was actually wielding this silly butter knife as I answered the door. He muttered something about having sausages for sale, but he'd come back at a better time... He did scurry off, looking over his shoulder, too. I guess he had heard plenty of noise as he made his trek up to our front door...
Strange.
Anyhow, door closed, knife back in, fight back in progression.
**sigh**
I forget how that melee ever ended, too. Wonder if miss Feisty remembers?
Till next time,
Kizzo
p.s. I am only referring to this sister as 'miss Feisty' because that title really suits her well. I love her to bits, mind you, but life is NOT boring when she is around. She and I went to Oktoberfest Prairie Style one year. Yes ONE year, as I'd never go again with her.... but that is fodder for another tale in this crazy bag of trix known as a blog...
p.p.s. TTFN![]()
