THE DAY OF INNOCENCE LOST

A new sultan emerged to rule the realms. Despite his young age, he was just five years old when he was named; he displayed wisdom far beyond his years. His castle was not the splendour of history, the marble walls and golden domes of yesterday, it was something greater, as it bore the mark of hope. Hope for a future, when the realm would shine as a beacon of civilization in the sands of a bright, new world of order and justice. Hope lasted for fifteen years, until the boy reach the age of twenty. On his birthday the guards took over the courts, expelled the judges, and the Sultan presided over his court for the honourable judgement of men. The name the court of honourable justice is a pale shadow of true order and justice, for atrocious crimes were committed against the people. Any and all that would oppose the Sultan would find themselves judged and hanged in days. Freedom became scarce as wheat and water, as the day was the first of a long draught. The Famine nearly wiped out the people. The fire in the highest tower of the palace, a fire that once stood for hope, became a symbol of despair. It was unknown what caused this drastic change in the Sultan, who was once loved by his people for his kindness, benevolence and stern sense of justice.

AKA -The day of corruption. I like the format Aimus...short, easily digestable, interesting. Its almost like reading a fictional bible of a different world. Keep it up. B

Do you have all this in your head right now? Are you just dispensing it in tiny little digestible (to steal B's word) chunks, or do you make up more after you finish the last little bit?

Aimus, in this particular 'chunk' of the tale, the concept of innocence lost kind of gets muddled halfway in the middle. Does that make sense? What I mean is that I was reading along, when all of a sudden, without warning, I am reading about good gone bad.... Perhaps in future segments you will elaborate on how/why this happened, so I'll be patient...

    Thanks B. fictional bible eh

Too explain it a bit, without really explaining anything. The entire story is done already, I wrote it a week or two ago I think, but instead of posting it as one big story, I decided to post it in Chunks, since it is perfectly suited for it. It's just me copy and pasting.

And yes, Kiz, it does happen very suddenly and there is a reason for it.
