THE DAY OF REVELATIONS

The Sultan spoke long and intensely with the star, and on this day, it was revealed that the Star was a messenger sent from the original God-ruler; the one slain almost a thousand years ago at the hands of a boy presumed innocent. The now long dead sultan was a prophet, and his prophecy was a dark one. The immortal sultan, startled by this revelation, retreated to his chambers. He gave no orders regarding the star, and none dared approach him in fear of his blinding light. The next day, the sultan emerged from his chambers, ready to hear the messenger’s words. The star told his tale, and the sultan listened. As the star began unfolding the prophecy, he also unveiled the sultan’s history.

Caught by the keeper of time at his earliest age he was held prison in the soul of the world, his mind could not yet grasp his own immortality. It was this young age that preserved his innocence, an integral part of the prophecy. The innocence forged a vessel to reshape the realm and give it hope in avoiding the coming darkness. It was the day of severance that marked the first day of the prophecy. The first day that innocence would be taken away. The keeper watched as a young boy entered the chambers of a sultan, playing a dangerous game. As he approached the man’s table, he was noticed, and the ruler beckoned him, asking if there was anything he wished to have from his table. The boy approached frightful, the gaping emptiness where his soul should be wide open to the world. It was this opening that provided the original jinn his opportunity. Seizing it, the boy was lunged forward, grabbed a knife from the table, and before anyone could react, the young boy had plunged it deeply into the sultan’s heart, breaking the wards that kept the realm safe from vengeful spirits. The Jinn soon left the boy, and the keeper appeared to take him back into his care, where he was nurtured loved without aging a day. The boy was free to walk the realms, but would rarely choose to do so, since there was nothing but pain there for him. It would be almost 400 years before he would again be granted his innocence.. The price for this innocence was mortality, a price the keeper gladly paid. He had grown fond of the child, who was continuously struggling with his empty soul. By releasing him from the world’s soul, he reunited the boy with his innocence, which could not return to him inside the protection of the world, once outside, he could never return. Or so thought the Keeper of Time. 15 years later, the boy, sensing the coming darkness of the shadow, made sure the wards would never fail, by giving up his innocence, and reclaimed immortality. But this event also sparked a splinter of hope, as the boy’s soul emerged on the night sky. It would be another five hundred years, but they would meet each other again, 1000 years to the day, just as the prophecy foretold.

I kind of wonder what this star looks like, is it small? Intensely bright? Does it have facial features? Does it look like Claire Danes or more like Sammy Davis Jr.?
