why you shouldnt take an animal lover hunting

so i want a pet deer...
but dad thought his little girl needed to go hunting...this is our story.

we get out to the lease, its cold im already not happy(if its under 60 i should stay in bed under my covers...it was 32), but i have my camera for lots of realy good pictures. we are sittin in a box stand and dad is constantly scolding me for moving or trying to talk, (im not good at sitting still, or being quiet) well i see something moving and point it out, turns out its a REALY big buck, he was so pretty he was like solid black. i grab my camera and start taking pictures, dad hands me a gun and says shoot him...aim for the chest...

me"i am shooting him"
dad"with a gun dips**t"
me"no i want him for a pet, dont kill him"
dad"you cant have the effin deer"

he points the gun at the deer, who is looking at us, dad aims, has the sights on him and all and is about to pull the trigger when i cant take it anymore and yelll

RUN BAMBI RUN!!!!!


the deer spins around, dad misses and lets out some verry colorful sentences, and im grounded for 6 months...if i knew he would have got that mad i would have sneezed or something... i bet next time he doesnt try and make his little girl kill her future pet.

the good thing is bambi ran off unharmed, even if i am grounded for it.

i just thought you guys would enjoy my wonderfull story on saving bambi.and getting grounded for it.

    That is great. My uncle took me hunting once when I was sixteen or so and it was even colder than that. Now I wasn't out to sabotage the thing like you. But I was useless. I sat in the cold with a rifle looking and looking and nothing. I bet a deer could have nibbled on my hat and I wouldn't have noticed.

    :lol: Oh my gosh, that is too funny:lol:. I actually miss hunting with my dad, but I've also been shooting and such since I was around 5 or so.

    There are many broad sided barns that owe me their lives and their silos stand at attention and cheer when they see me in the vicinity.

    Great story. I'm on Bambi's side. Not against hunters per se--my partner Bob at work is right now out there getting rejuvenated. He's been a bit sour on work lately. Morale is a constant problem with the sort of work we do.

    YAY Steph!! If your dad wants you to learn the fine art of shootin', then why not go hunting for Javex containers? (that is what my dad used to prop up and attempt to teach me the how-to's on shooting). Failing that, pickle jars? (those are real fun to shoot at) But Bambi? Naw, you did great my friend! YAY!

    =/ I agree with this in some ways, and in others, not so much. I don't like killing animals, especially because we don't have to in order to survive now. At the same time, when the deer population becomes over populated, it's far worse than a quick death by gunshot, because all of them become diseased and underweight and then ALL of them end up dying.

    Your dad trying to make you kill it was completely wrong though. Kudos for rebellion! Sorry about the grounding :P and also sorry if my above comment sounded b*****, I just feel rather strongly on the issue.
