THE DAY OF SEVERANCE
The world of the sultan was severed from the realm. His murder opened the path for Jinn and Spirit to join together and cast a spell on the bright marble walls of the great palace, crumbling the walls and collapsing the towers that reached for the sun. This allowed all the corrupted, once fallen soldiers access to the realm of the living. The people of the Sultan soon found their sons and daughters slaughtered, leaving only the elderly alive. They were not expected to pose a threat to the dominion of outsiders. But the undead were wrong, their masters were wrong, and as the elderly prayed to their god, armies of angels descended from the heavens, onto those that would defy a God-ruler. The Sultan was dead, his son hanged, and the women in his harem all raped and slaughtered. The realm had fallen. There was no preservation there. All the elders were granted passage to the heavens, where they were reunited with their sons and daughters. Jinn, upon feeling his armies dwindle, called a great sand storm to lay waste to the city, and called the last of the undead into a great tomb. The few undead that survived the celestial vengeance lay in waiting, beneath the sands of the desert, to rise when once again the realm of the Sultan is uncovered.
