I Am Spoiled

Rate this Entry
It's true. I am spoiled. Not in the bratty sense but somehow I can't exactly explain. Yesterday I took everything out of my kitchen cupboards and drawers, cleaned them, washed everything and put everything back neatly, finding a few items here and there to get rid of. Though I don't do these types of things often enough, once I start, it's hard to quit. But I did and for my reward I went to see Charlie Wilson's War, popcorn and lemonade included, a light supper at Cracker Barrel, mostly to kill time until our local art theatre opened. Yes, I went to another movie, no popcorn or lemonade this time, and saw Lars and the Real Girl. Yes, I laughed along with the crowd but something told me my laughter might turn into tears. Well, I found it to be a very sweet and tender movie.

Oh my gosh! How could I forget. Before supper I went to Borders. Found a new Jimmie Dale Gilmore CD. I am not a huge C&W fan but I love the old songs and his quirky, twangy voice. Not sure why. I have quite a few relatives who were in the business and sang at the Grand Ole Opry. My great uncle is even in the Country Music Songwriter's Hall of Fame.

I love reading people's book lists and looked up a few I've not read. Someone's blog (I'll come back and give them credit) listed one of John Irving's books so I bought that. I don't know if they would recommend it, not sure if they liked it. It was just on their list. (It was Nossa's list)

The snow is almost gone here. Luckily my family in California did not lose their electricity due to all the storms.
Back to school tomorrow....dinosaurs and Alaska are my January themes.
Time to get ready for church.
Have a nice day everyone even if it is soggy out.

90% of us are spoiled. We don't know what it is to go through deprivations and hardships. It's the nature of the modern world.
