Exiled in a kilt

Ok, I had been going to post this in the News thread. However, I have some comments regarding it & it is in someways related to my previous entry about personal freedoms.

Story

Firstly, I fully understand why the government/concerned families would be in favour of this & in principle I have no problem with it. But there would appear to me to be some reason for concern also.

The biggest concern I have is that there will likely be serious repercussions for other people sharing the same name or a general resemblance to someone named on the database - I quite clearly remember a pedeatricians office in Scotland being trashed in the late '90s, because people didnt know enough about the english language to be able to tell the difference between pedeatrician & pedeophile. - I think we would likely see similar incidents of vigilante "justice" if this went through.

It is because of this that I am not in favour of making these details available to the public as a whole, it should reside with the schools, nurseries etc and the parents should be notified if deemed to be necessary.
