Happy for the Frost

Oh well. You all know full well that I rejoice with this winter wonderland. Mind you, it was kind of cold today, the temps were not too bad, but the wind rendered us with a windchill factor of minus thirty-something below (celcius), which really did bite.
I meandered around and took photos today, dropped off presents to some near and dears, and just generally eyed what was going on around me. At my favorite duckpond, there is now an established skating rink, complete with a heated skating 'shack' for us to warm up in. A little girl was crying the blues because she stayed out too long and her toes were really cold. Her anxious daddy was rubbing her feet in an effort to warm her up. Poor baby (though I remember making my dad squirm with that kind of thing, too. Man it gets cold here, and skates are not warm usually).... anyhoooo...
I wrote a couple of Haiku (can't quit, it is my passion, you know), so:
Nature gave its gift
the trees in the Prairies were
all wrapped up in frost
Imagination
wandered as I gazed at the
frosted windowpanes
The fragrant candles
we cannot forget about
they add warmth and cheer
Families gathering
celebrating the Season
I love holidays!
Well, if I don't get a chance to say so, please everyone, have a safe and happy holiday.... raise your glass and toast to the Friends of LitNet!
Bless you all,
Kizzo![]()
