A Ramble through Smilie Land

Like name dropping yopu know?
Ive been thinking recently that there are books that people 'drop' into conversation. Im not saying its alawsy for the purpose of making themselves sound more cultured or educated but its still can be bloody annoying. Things like 'BIg Brother' refeances, and things like referancing to things as conchs talking about some people being more equal than others. and murrmering Nolite te bastardes carborundorum oh and catch 22s ... at the same time Id like to make alist of that kind of book and see how many people actually read them and how many people know enough about them to coast through most conversations??
Humm thats an idea for a thread... literature snob books....
Its not that I have an objection to reading them most of the books I an think of are quite nteresting its the name dropping that annoys me.
