Sci Fi Story

Tis the season...

Well yesterday was a day where I was taking care of my service people. The satellite guy at the shop and I went out and had 3 or 4 beers together...I then drove home to get close to the house. It was open mike night at Bob' Irish Pub. The mike night was struggling for a while, but it has been exceptional for the last couple of months. Last night was phenomonal. I brought my amp, harps, and microphone, but didn't feel the need to play. I just sat back in the glow of some great musicians, and talked to some complete strangers....strangers, always think I want to make money or something, and I don't. I make enough money as it is, and really am content. But those people always say things like "Well send me all of the information that you have, and I'll pass it along."

I have the information, but why would I do all of this work for them for free? What do they think I am, a schlep? So anyways, I gave a $20 dollar bill to the each of the bartenders at Bob's, (Wendy is drop dead gorgeous, and funny...Leslie is a true dog lover, and beautiful peron inside and out....) Well, I bought a drink for April and Wendy...April works the door...and then I went home to read some Lit-Net blogs. When I woke up in the morning, I went through my pockets for my wallet and keys and everything. I found a note that one of the ladies slipped into my pocket. It reads,

Can I call you Daddy?

Anyways, I just thought I'd share that with you...Ciao, B

PS~ The story is going good, and I'll post the next entry tomorrow.

You are a kind and generous person, B. Your generosity is an example to the rest of us. But about the 'daddy note' ... curious! Glad your story is going good, I look forward to the next installment. Till then, Kizzo

LOL, well, probably not Dadddy, but she can call me whatever she wants...I'm actually working my magic on a woman named Kalinda...we'll see. I haven't even taken her on a date yet, but I gave her a warning that a guy that looks just like me might swing around sometime after the holidays and ask her out...LoL...she just giggled and nodded. I take that as a good sign.

I have never seen a Harp in a bar. I must have hung out in the wrong kind of bar. Do you know who left the note?

Ma Hubbard, in the world of music, there are harps, and Harps....I play harmonica....its a powerful instrument, and very small. I play blues music, and blues musicians call the harmonica a mouth harp...some call it a Superharp. Does that make sense? Yeah I know who sent it. It was April...I went back over to the bar last night....(remember it is the holiday season, and my sister-in-law's brother was in town). April kept calling me Daddy all night, but it was funny.

Ok, I totally should have know that. I guess I got an idea in my mind and just didn’t think any further. I'm a blues lover. No one else in my family likes it much, but they tolerate me. I got to hear Boz Skaggs and Stevie Ray Vaughan at the New Orleans blues festival in April of 1990. Very cool.

Stevie Ray Vaughn came to my hometown just as his first album came out...can't remember maybe Texas Flood...Couldn't Stand The Weather maybe. Anyways, I was 15 or 16...He played at the University. There was a full house, and some room to walk up to the stage...me and three of my friends walked up during the first song. People were looking at us like we were weird. Anyways, SRV looked down and said, "Well,...looks like we got some blues fans in the house." He then reached down and shook each of our hands. No one else was standing up front, so the Double Trouble Blues Band kicked into the next song...EVERYONE came up and stood by the stage, and we danced up front the whole show....Wowwee Wow Wow. B
