Six Wonderful Days

It lasted six days. The euphoria of being free from the Citi-Financial loan. Now even though the loan was sixteen years long this just means I was extending it over and over again long after coming in possession of our cars. Ruth and I have had the titles to these two money pits for years.
Six days.
Last Wednesday Ruth's car went and lost the water pump. We managed to get by on the one car often taking her to work early then picking her up when my shift ended. Owing my garage on one outstanding bill that I had been chipping away at I accepted the time being taken getting to it.
But at 3:20 pm Tuesday afternoon the shop calls to tell me it's worse then that. The engine needs replacing for either a $2000 or a $2400 dollar one.
So-o-o-o-o- a quick phone call and a delighted to have you back response from the Citi-Vultures.
What annoyed me no end was I had mailed the final loan payment in Nov 29 and they still did not have it--went to headquarters and not posted yet. So my loan will be for $3121 with credit given when the payment hits. Could have gone for a four year one but I'm not getting any younger so opted for the three year and I'm determined to cut that down by a month or two. Good news instead of $201 a month they only want $132 so that's a small help and I can keep pecking away at the other go aways.
But oh those six days and the dreams I had--only slightly ruined by the electric bill but it is winter after all.
Not the end of the world and after all these years not sure what I would do with a vacation if I took one. The New York visits DO NOT qualify. Family time is duty time sad to say.
Oddly enough son Dan is in a similar predicament with a military vehicle the new squadron commander wnats him to pay for to the tune of $2400. I love the Lord for his timing and exactitude about small things. What were the chances. His unit buddies are rallying and even offering to chip in but Dan's decided to show his disdain for being 'an example' by living by his contract now. Civilian employees for Uncle Sam have everything in writing. ANd he's been doing quite a bit extra work on the free. This will have an effect. Plus his contract is up in April and he's got an excellent chance at getting an Army commission as a lieutenant. The mind boggles.
And yes God is still good. Despite what they say on the religious forums. Went there yesterday and was astounded to see how much work people put into not believing God has a right to actually USE his sovereignity. Perish the thought.
