A brief commentary on time as subjective thought.
Without time, there is nothing, this stands as a fact. This commentary aims to prove that like the truth, time is a subjective entity open to interpretation. Without time, there could be so much more than nothing, given that nothing stands for less than everything. Since history, it is determined that men move trough time, and today, with modern advances in science, it is detailed that time is relative. But relative in this case is not similar to subjective. Whereas relative means it can slow down, even stop, or potentially accelerate to a pace beyond imaginable, there is still time at any given instant. The subjectivity of time states that time never existed, never will exist, and never was a part of anything. If taking this statement as truth, it means that there is nothing. As previously stated however, truth, like time, is subjective. So do we reject the idea as being a trifle? Perhaps it is just the misguided misgivings of a deluded mind. Of course it is, let there be no doubt about it. But as history, something that is invariably associated with time, repeats itself, patterns emerge that prove that, despite our perception of time, it is in fact, an illusion. A clever trick of the mind in an attempt to give reason where there is none to be found.
What is this prove I speak off? It is the ever-changing morale of history, what was right is now wrong, what is wrong becomes the epitome of good grace in a different era. All this has nothing to do with the concept of time. It all is subjective. What does anyone ever learn from history before they die? Perhaps it is the concept of time as a fact of life. Or could it be the morale of a changing society? Who knows, but does it matter? No, because everything gets reduced to nothing in history. The history everybody so values as a learning ground for the future. But history IS the future. What part of history gets written down depends on the truth of the time, and with that truth, the time of history is subjective. It never truly existed. It is morphed and altered to fit our perception. Just like an illusion. An illusion people use to shape the future of their lives and societies. Continual adjustment is required to make the illusion work. These are the ethics of men. If a part of history does not fit the future, we alter it, but if the future does not fit with the ethics of men, they are adjusted. Expanding the illusion further.
Despite what the occasional reader might think, I do not stand outside of the illusion. I am as much a part of it as anyone else. I was thrown into it at birth, and will depart once I have reached the age of 200 years minus T where T is the unknown factor in years. I’m happy to be a part of an illusion, a part of this subjective time. Beyond the illusion there is time and since it is so subjective, this means there is nothing. One simply does not exist outside of the illusion. We have created ourselves in the greatest paradox imaginable; Time.
Placing the paradox at the centre of this commentary, it would suggest that any debate on the subject itself is pointless, since it will always be based on nothing. Therefore no conclusive answers can be given to any question asked here. There cannot even be any certainty that the questions are even asked. It could all just be a subjective attempt to lull the reader into a sense of ambivalence towards the concepts of time and logic, both of which are defied and denied by the illusion.
To conclude this brief commentary, I would ask a question, and think hard before even considering an answer: What colour are Bobs sneakers in his episode with the giant space hamster that was not a miniature?
