Oh yeah, I am having a new love affair with "WORDS." Between 2 creative writing classes, and an editing class (that is insanely hard) and Medieval Literature, my appreciation for words and their usage has tremendously increased. Nineteenth century essayist Henry Ward Beecher wrote, "All words are pegs to hang ideas on." So, I am currently experiencing a re-found impassioned love affair with words, banishing bad words and burnishing the good ones until they sparkle, much the way the sun glistens on the ocean. I am in truth, infatuated, seduced and a trifle obsessed. I am looking in a sea, full of oysters for pearls that stand out. Yes, I am having denotation and connotation moments, watching words turn phrases, create meanings and messages much in the same manner that one note makes way for another and gives us harmony. It really is a lovely process.
