Fall is Kissing Winter

These birds are the last of the visitors to the famous Wobbly Pier that has been my pilgrimage this entire summer....

Yeah ... Winter is coming.

Oh well. I am ready -- Pepper is already looking to the skies in anticipation of those fluffy things we call snowflakes! She loves the first snowfall. But PLEASE let it be after Halloween. The children could use a nice evening to do their trick-or-treating.

I remember when I was a child and how far I'd go on my Halloween run just for the sake of receiving free treats. The further you'd go, the more treats you'd have, what can I say?

But if it was really really cold (which it was most years out here in the Prairies), then the evening would be cut short.

So, a warm one for the little ones. Please and thank-you!

Pepper was groomed really nicely this past week. She really loves her groomer, but could do without having to see the groomer's bird BeeBee. BeeBee squawks strange words and googles her eyes and this unsettles Pepper to say the least.... Just the mention of BeeBee's name makes Pepper start to growl.

Oh well.

    Snow? I'm so jealous. We get sleet and hail but very rarely snow.

    Nice to see you back kizzo. Snow in October? I could never live in Canada. We don't get serious snow here until Christmas at the earliest. God I hate January and February. Niamh, snow is fun for adults once a year maybe for an hour, but after that it sucks walking in it, shovling it, and especially driving in it.

    Oh snow! I love snow! My daughter, who is nearly 4 now, has never seen proper snow. I envy you kiz

    Try and enjoy the coming winter. I love the first snowfall as well, and I'm happy that I'll be home to see it this year. It's about the same in Ohio as where Virgil is at. We wont get our first snow untill closer to Christmas time. You've been missed around here. I hope you have some more time soon. Take Care, Meg

    Wow, your photographs are always so pretty! I think I'll be seeing snow (for the 1st time in my life!) this year. I'll post some pics too

    gee, i sure love your posts...always so upbeat...i agree abt halloween passed and no snow...and so cold brrrrr.....i love the snow...it's a completely different world but like virgil sez shoveling and shoveling...you know there's an art to it...gotta shovel that first snow or it will turn to ice and you'll never get it off...that is so funny abt pepper and the bird...i loved dogs...my dog stella is like a ball of fur...everytime she moves a thousand hairs go everywhere...brush, brush and brush again...but she always smiles and loved lotsa hugs and attention....till next post take care....
