Rehearsals

Rate this Entry
Before Halloween our choir director makes sure we have our Christmas cantata music in hand. He also provides us with a practice CD of our part so I am always singing Christmas music at Halloween.
I get to sing the O Holy Night solo in the last movement and there are also two nice descants. This is the first year in many that we will sing sans orchestra. We have a fabulous organist though.

Hula rehearsals are also going well. We have several Christmas programs to perform as well as dancing to Mary Did You Know at the candle light Christmas eve service. I love Christmas.

Hula rehearsals? What's that? A Hawaiian dance? Or the hula hoop thing?

Congrats on the solo! I admire you for being able to do it. I'm too shy. (-:

    Virgil...
You are cracking me up. Hula is the interpretive dance of the Polynesian people. The song is portrayed with hand motions and facial expression. The feet and the hips keep the rhythm. No hula hoops here. I think maybe you are pulling my hula skirt...I mean...my leg.
I have a halau (hula group). We need some men. Care to join?

    Countess,
Do you have a desire to sing solos? I have been singing for many years, mostly in choirs which led into solo work. You can sing to yourself in the mirror, then your dog or cat, then maybe a family member. Go with a bunch of friends where there is karaoke. Well, I'm not sure of your age so make sure you are 'legal'. I don't want to be leading you astray. Just try it for fun. You never know what it might turn in to.

Well, I did say Hawaiian dance too. I don't think I can join. I look terrible in a grass skirt. You can't tell the grass from the hair on my legs.
