Wow! and I hadn't a Clue

Go here if you wish to laugh your face off, but first: in doing basic research on Byron / Wilde (it stinks not being in college because I have no real library and must order books that run $200.00 a pop), I discovered that Byron "often read in secret, to keep up appearances of being a rebel."

That blew my mind, because my Jules also read in secret, to keep up appearances of being Mr. Pretty-Boy Fashionista. And it's strange how - with NO prior knowledge of the incident, my character who was inspired by OB, heavily influenced by Oscar the Grouch (who, btw, OB turned me onto; I hadn't read any Oscar previous to meeting him), and naturally of Bryon (they are my evil bi-triunity with bi being their, er, "orientation") ended up with a the exact habit of that brilliant poet.

If Jules ever makes it "out there", people will say I researched it and planned it all out, but I didn't. Maybe that hidden prayer I prayed - that God would infuse me with the spirit of Wilde, Byron, Shakespeare - maybe something came of that.

You may not have to order them. Some colleges will allow you access to their libraries on a temporary basis for research purposes. Considering that you are writing your paper for entrance into a graduate program you may be able to get them to consider allowing you a pass for the library. It doesn't hurt to ask if you haven't already.
