Snow day

AHAHAHA!
I had such fun today.
I slept in through my alarm. Mum told me school was closed (Though I already suspected this). I wanted to sleep in longer but mum was getting ready to go and I wanted to have a little snow ball fight. I put on three pairs of trousers, four tops ranging form a long sleeved t-shirt to my London aquarium fleece. I also wore my hat, scarf and two pairs of gloves (But only one pair for the snowball fight because my hands weren't dexterous enough with two pairs) and a pair of slipper socks given to me at Christmas under my trainers.
I went to deliver a donation for some flowers to a neighbor (One of our more senior neighbors recently died and her daughter lives just down the road from us, opposite her house). She heard me coming before I reached the gate. I handed her the envelope and said that mum would call from work too. She asked me the general questions "are you at college", "what are you doing now", "Oh you're planning to go to university, which one" etc. I didn't mind answering.
On the way back to my house I scooped up handfuls of snow here and there. I was planning to see if I could make one of those giant snowballs. I left it on the doorstep to get some breakfast. Eventually, mum was ready. I offered her my other gloves (as I was only going to wear one pair) but she declined. We had our snowball fight (her hands must have been frozen, she later assured me they were). We used all of the snow on the car and got damp from the snow. Mum caught the side of my face, and therefore my eyes (As that's the spot my glasses don't cover) so I ended up with snow in both eyes at alternate times.
When the car was clear we gave up and mum sat in the car and I went back inside, having moved my "giant snowball" to the wall. I then peeled off my extra layers (my hands were burning by that time). I stayed up for a bit and then I crawled back into bed and slept until 1am. I kept thinking about going back out to play in the snow and turning my "giant snowball" into a little snowman. When I woke up I dressed in just one pair of warm trousers and my fleece (but with two pairs of gloves) and went back outside.
It wasn't as nice as the first time, when the snow crunched under my feet. Now the path had turned to slush and was rather slippery. I got my foot wet shifting it aside with my foot. I gathered some snow and managed to make my little snowman. I went into the back garden to grab some twigs for arms. There was even enough little twigs on the selected arms to give him a little hair. Then I was stumped on what to make the face with. We had no decent stones. In the end I decided to use milk lids. But I discovered that we had no empty milk bottles, because I'd out the rubbish out in the morning because mum asked me to. I found some little flavored water bottles that were almost empty and had gone flat (so I wouldn't drink them) emptied the contents and took the lids that were blue. I searched for a nose and settled on the lid from an empty bottle of cider vinegar that was silver. I stuck them on my snowman and drew pupils on the eyes with a black pen. Lastly I used a little twig, secured at either end with a bit of icy snow as a mouth. It was a rather cute snowman.
To add to my day the school called later on. School's closed tomorrow because if the icy conditions predicted. I wonder if my snowman can stay solid enough over night to completely freeze. We shall see.

Well, Bluebiird out for now.
