Odds and Ends

The autopsy report on dispatch partner Bob came back. The good news was is that his deceased daughter-in-law was not making the rounds of doctors for prescriptions.

She only needed the one.

This particular doctor had basically had her on so many drugs that were handling so many different areas of her health that the functions basically caved in on her.

No lawsuits or inquiries are being contemplated. BUT the coronor is sending a report to the Medical Health people that monitor that sort of thing as an item of concern on said doctor's record. I suspect he had a narrow escape because Bob hasn't that much more money then I do and he's shouldering a lot--taking in his son and grand-daughter. His son, Sasha's broken leg is doing quite well by the by. He might avoid the limp that makes taking walks with the long suffering one so uninspiring. At my age I can still set a pace (for about the length of the back yard) but I leave her in the dust even back in the good ol days.

The lawn mower of doom was cheated of its prey again. We are very aware it only has to win once. I was singng hynms while mowing unsuccessfully trying to score points with God. Nothing gets past Him but I sensed a smile.

My life is about to change on Thursday. For the first time in the married history of the Mtpspurs we are having a house guest for a week. Other then family. A friend of the Mrs. (from Texas) is coming to visit proving that internet friendships can work (Logos take note). They met on a Christian website (Paula White) and have been bonding like campfire girls.

I was up for this until I was told she's even MORE sensitive to teasing then my wife and daughter and 50 war stories went back in the drawer. Am considering bribing good behavior in exchange for Avengers comics.

This may be fun. Or a train wreck.

Good luck with the house guest, and I'm happy the dreaded lawn mower has yet to claim you:) Thanks for the tip of house. I jumped in to check this on commercial, and I'm loving it. Have a good night, Meg

House guests aren't so bad. Do like my hubby does, stay gone as much as possible, then come home and go straight to bed! He stays on his best behavior that way. Good luck!

Just checking up on you, Rich. Hoping this finds you well. I am almost through reading the Phantom Chronicles. Great stuff!

Rich, what hymns are you humming while mowing? I prefer the Battle Hymn of the Republic, or even humming the Overture of 1812.

PS-I've been pretty good, no telling what comics I could get if I were really good.
