Okay, so I’ve got another addiction since the second series of GITS:SAC has slowed down.
Yesterday I decided to go along to the first meeting of the Japanese Cultural Society, despite the dreadful cold I’ve got. I was thinking of taking Japanese classes when a girl I met near the start of the term mentioned she was doing it but it’s the same time as my life writing seminar so I couldn’t join. It’d be nice to learn Japanese. I know Spanish, well, the days of the week and one to 100 anywayThat’s about all I took away from five years of compulsory Spanish lessons at school. Also, the society seems to watch various anime and films and not just from Japan but from Asia in general, though mainly Japan I guess, and people were suggesting anime to watch and I didn’t know any of it. I’d have suggested GITS:SAC but I don’t think it quite fitted into the criteria they were after, I’m not sure. I’ll see what the ones recommended were like and see if I can raise it at a later date. Well, after that I started looking around and I got addicted to another cartoon. How stupid can I get? It’s Blood+ and I’ve just got through episode 18 and no, that wasn’t one of the ones suggested, though I might suggest it later. The annoying thing it that I’ve got work to hand in tomorrow which I haven’t even started but I’m so addicted and I so desperately want to know what’s going to happen that I just can’t seem to start it. CURSE MY SIMPLE BRAIN! It’s only 500 words that I have to do. That’s not that long is it? I’ve written crappy essays longer than that and I know that for a fact. I have to...hang on let me get this right, write a “500-word commentary on a poem decided by your tutor, due in week 3. (This will not count towards your final grade)” I wonder if that’s why I can’t seem to realise the urgency of the damned thing, because it’s not vital. But really it probably is vital because my tutor needs to see where I’m flagging so that they can help me fix it for the stuff that will go towards my grade. You know what, laying it out like this I’m beginning to see. Perhaps I can put a hold on watching this cartoon for a few hours, besides, I have to finish reading The Member of the Wedding too for tomorrow. Don’t want a repeat of The Turn of the Screw, which is currently sittin on my shelf now still unfinished.
Bluebiird out.
