My horrible Day

I've had a horrible day. Sadly. I was in tears during English class today but told everyone I was tired and allergies were bothering me which is true to some extent. I got a D on my first essay in English, I NEVER get a D on an essay EVER! It killed me. I did horribly on an essay that I though I did wonderfully on. A D! How worse off can it get? I never get low grades like that! Ever! I am a straight A student with only a few B's to mark down my records- but a D! On the first essay, the first chance I had to show the teacher what type of writer I am...
I hate the letter D, it stands for Disaster, Devastating, Dungeon, Death, Diabolical, Dismal, Destroy....
My friends keep saying, and I know it's true that who I am is not defined by my grades but who I am in God's eyes but try convincing that to my heart and soul right now.

    Try not to take it to heard too much. I'm sorry that you didn't do as well as you thought, but the best thing you can do is to determine what expectations your teacher had. I run into this issue almost every time I switch to another professor, so I'm a pro at this situation. Good luck to you, and try not to be too unhappy:)

    D also stands for Daring, Dynamic, Doable, Dependable. I'm curious what the essay was and what your expectations were (even more what the teacher's were). Audiences for essays vary. I use to crank out performance reports on enlisted personnel on a regular basis for years with very little rewrites until I met a colonel who simply WOULD NOT accept my reports as written because they WERE pretty much same old, same old, the way it's always been etc. Would love to tell you I adapted and saw the light but I was STUCK in my style of writing and NEVER pleased him. The sun rose the next morning anyway. I took that personally I might add. Please accept this entry in a spirit of gentle admonishment and I'm convinced you'll do better (as you have proven in the past.
