We are more

We are more than just blind, senseless sensing- groping- people. Beyond the senses we have consciousness, thought, some would say a soul, feelings, so we are much more than just "that that senses." But what of this- do we value people more then who have deep feelings or deep thoughts? Do we have a collective view of "deep," or "reality"? Are there certain things that are true for all people? I would say we all live in the same rules. It seems there should be a universal feeling of goodwill, but sometimes we have to doubt. It's very complicated.

But- what of our deepness? What does this mean? Generally it is the material creations of a person- their poetry, literature, art; it can also be their relationships. But doesn't it seem more official if it's material, if it's written down? And so we make our spiritual relationships material, we say "A loving son and daughter." Or insert wife, or whatever.

So we try to write down our deepness, and communicate our feelings, because otherwise it disappears into the wind. So we write, we share, we improve, we philosophize, we have our books and journals of philosophy and poetry, of religion and everything under the sun. Does this make an impact? Who is to tell- thus a philosophic inquiry is born.

We live in daily, human life, yet also we always think about what our impact will be; we always look the future and ask, what happens to humankind?

And anyway, isn't our meaning communicated at all times? Or is not, because there is not a human brain to comprehend it? What of God, what of nature? Are we not like neurons in an even larger brain?

And this is another really great video; China Cat, by Grateful Dead, live. It's really an amazing video. The guy it starts showing at about 1:27 is really entertaining looking- he looks like a total geek, but really cool...jerry plays amazingly. I would think this would convert anyone to the Dead, but some people just don't like them I guess.

My back and neck are still hurting. At times it's felt a little better...I walked a couple of miles yesterday. I'll be okay.

See, what they don't tell you about Grateful Dead songs is that while the video is 8 minutes, they cut out hours of repetitious playing of the same riffs...(j/k) I love them.

China Cat Sunflower- Grateful Dead

Look for a while at the China Cat sunflower,
Proud walking jingle in the midnight sun.
Copperdome bodhi drip a silver kimono,
Like a crazy quilt stargown through a dream night wind.

Crazy cat peekin' through a lace bandanna,
Like a one-eyed Cheshire, like a diamond-eye jack.
A leaf of all colors plays a golden-string fiddle,
To a double-E waterfall over my back.

Comic book colors on a violin river Cryin' Leonardo,
Words from out a silk trombone.
I rang a silent bell, beneath a shower of pearls,
In the eagle-winged palace of the Queen Chinee.
