I'm a Diced Tomato

I Am Liking This Year.

I've never felt so free. I've gotten rid of things that brought me down, and I've discovered new things. I've met the funniest and coolest people who have helped me become more creative, more open. I've never laughed so hard, before, I think...I've met my long-lost twin who is AMAZING at thinking up the funniest things. Geez, I wish I had the imagination she does.

I feel so inspired by her and lotta things...I mean, today I applied for monthly info for this fashion/art college, and a year ago I wouldn't have done that. I've loved the history of fashion for a long time, and have considered being a fashion designer for period movies or something along those lines. However I always thought that having a career in it would be un fulfilling money-wise. I don't care anymore. They say money brings unhappiness, actually. I'm doing what I like. And maybe I won't over-achieve so much because it just zaps me. I like everything, and that's the problem. My brain can't be amazing in just one area. It can only be mediocre in everything, which can get really annoying.

I like going to school just to see those people. I've found the mutants.

Okay, on another note, today my teacher was talking about Vietnam, and after class I told her the Kent State relations with DEVO, etc. She was thrilled at the idea at what DEVO actually means, and she told me that she hadn't heard much of their music, and she also told me to bring in a CD and I gave her my Greatest Hits CD this evening at back to school night and she FLIPPED OUT. She got all squealy. I hope she likes it, ha ha. She loves deep thinking, so...hopefully we have another recruit for the Devolutionary Army in the making, ha ha.

About my other awesome teacher, T-Rex. I found he's retiring at the end of this year, which makes me sad because he is really one of the best teachers I've ever had and I want to be able to come and bug him next year like I do with the Physics teacher from last year. But he deserves to retire and all...

He says he's giving me his DEVO sticker at the end of the year, though. Classic, vintage...@_@

Also at back to school night I walked in the door of my Geometry class before my parents came in and my Geometry teacher says, "So do your parents share your passion for DEVO?"

Both my parents don't much care for them. I think he thought they'd be techno geeks wearing lab coats from their day at the laboratory or something.

Great blog, Lilly. Who says that fashion designers don't make a decent salary? Some can do quite well. Good luck. You sound like a great sutdent, one that any teacher would love to have.

Oh, thank you. No wonder people call you Uncle Virgil. You're so uplifting. A guide.

Yeah, I figure if I make it into the movie business I'll do nicely.

Good luck with fashion. Like Virgil said, there is money to be made. You just have to find the right part of the field to work in. It's good to hear that you are having a good year at school:)

I am very glad that school is going so well, Lily. Yay! I found it amusing that the teacher was imagining your parents to like DEVO. But then that is not far fetched ... DEVO has been around for a while, bet they did listen to it! DEVOte thyself!

Aw, thank you, all of you. I'm glad, too...but I don't know about my career. It's too early anyways. I've just had sort of an accidental backround with fashion. Astronomy sounds so nice but I stink as physics even though it fascinates me. Maybe if I just focus on it...and indeed I shall continue to DEVOte my life to DEVO...XD
