casually drifting along
the timeline of tomorrow
surveying desires, wants
and so-so possibilities
considering the monetary value
of adventures
and the right to stay adrift

fragments of the future
are forever available
in this section of the heap

inattentive to right now
never thought a crime
bypassing those moments
could turn out a casualty
of undealt cards

everyday uncommonly appears
tedious without the struggles
to exist in a free society

possessing lists
containing stolen memories
that once had a home
now belonging to another
unrecognized by flattering lips

is that so possible
miss the opportunity
was it suppose to be mine
and possessed by another

smiling...waving
but does not shake my hand
appearing far away
safer at a distance
who could have known
that possibly mighta been mine
